I found out that to have your world upgraded, you need to defeat the Wall of Flesh. That said, I read the wiki about Hardmode. Now I feel as though I have pretty thoroughly explored my little world and I'm not sure what else to do in it (except what I'm getting to). In a way I was afraid of not being able to find anything because the world was too big. It made sense at first since I was new to the game and getting used to it. Now I'm thinking of making a new world, either medium or large. So, when I began to play Terraria, I decided to create a small world, since I was just beginning. It apparently only works with certain items. Unfortunately, I thought (well hoped before really reading the wiki thoroughly enough) that the Tinkerer Workstation would allow me to combine some of the items I had. Luckily, after figuring that out, both have respawned. If you have anymore item ideas that he could sell, then just give me a call (not literally). So, in the comments of my last post, I told you I figured out that the reason the Goblin Tinkerer and Mechanic didn't respawn in my house when I found them (and then they died) was because I didn't create rooms properly. Here it goes: View attachment 17001 Goblin HookĢ9 Tile Range (slightly higher than Diamond Hook)Īnd, now the Tinkerer's Tie. Now, this is my idea to make his inventory a bit more interesting: A few new items. I was also wondering to myself, why does the Goblin Tinkerer have a Grappling Hook if I have a Candy Cane Hook or Bat Hook or Diamond/Gem Hook? It's terrible compared to all these items, plus they can be achieved pretty early, while the Goblin Tinkerer cannot be (for most). I recently got the Goblin Tinkerer, and found out I only really needed 15 Gold for what I wanted in the shop (the permanent items). Then again, every NPC has their boundaries. So, the idea of this is to give NPCs some more use, even if it doesn't last too long. They're not needed, and at that point there house could go to better people. It's annoying when I don't need the Dye Trader or Nurse or someone anymore. The point of this project is to make NPCs who have no use, or little use to make them have a use. This is part of a project I am starting called More Useful NPCs. Mechanic isn't totally necessary, quite possible to live without wire, although it makes creating base defenses possible and also moon arenas.Īngler gives the Hotline fishing rod, which is used for catching fish in lava. Nurse I suppose is okay if you're fighting an invasion/moon but if you build a good arena really shouldn't be necessary. Dynamite is still maybe useful if you're going to attach it to bunnies. Grenades stop being that effective on stuff. Steampunker sells the Clemintator, which is pretty useful as the corruption/crimson spreads pretty quickly.ĭemolitionist really has very little use later on, even if you like bombs, there are always bomb statues (Infinite bombs!). Pirate does sell the most damaging weapon in the game, and its ammo.

Doesn't REMAIN useful but certainly more necessary than the Dye trader. Merchant sells the Bug Net, which is pretty important if you plan to fight Duke Fishron. Witch Doctor sells the Tiki set, one of the endgame Summoner Armors, as well as several other summoner items. If we're making NPCs more useful, might want to consider someone else.

And the Tinkerer's workshop is pretty important.), the only other ones that really do this are the Nurse, Dryad (Oh, my world is 20% hallow? I don't care.), Guide, maybe someone else I forget. Tinkerer is one of the NPCs that remain useful even after you buy their stuff (also his Rocket boots are pretty nice. Mind you, its late so I might have missed someone, but that should be around correct. if you like guns, obviously arms dealer is gonna be pretty important. (Yes, I understand some of this depends on your playstyle. Top is Guide (because game progression), lowest is like, Dye Trader (Sells unnecessary stuff and becomes obsolete very quickly unless you are addicted to silver dye)ĭyeTrader-Painter-Santa-Stylist-Nurse (Does anyone really use the nurse?)-Clothier(Not high up because he's the result of progression, not a requirement)-Dryad-Party Girl-Demolitionlist-Angler-Arms Dealer-Pirate-Merchant-Mechanic-Steampunker-Witch Doctor-Tinkerer-Cyborg-Wizard-Guide I mean, if you think about it, he's already pretty high on the usefulness meter. Does the goblin really need to be made "more useful"?
